Our third grade program is designed to reinforce and extend the Structures of Life unit taught in Cecil County Public Schools. Students explore the field, forest and stream to discover native animals. They examine animal structures and discuss how these structures relate to life functions such as breathing, eating, protection and reproduction.
Further exploration centers on how the plants and animals work together with other factors to compose an ecosystem. Games and activities reinforce concepts taught on the hike.
