Nature Center programs are great for nature lovers, outdoor enthusiasts of all ages, families and organizations such as Scout groups. Family memberships and organization memberships are available for $30. Scout groups and other youth organizations over 12 members are $50.

Go, Dog, Go

Saturday January 26, 1:00-3:00 pm

Come and learn about the sport of mushing! Sue Thompson, an expert in the sport, along with her dogs, will teach us about dog sledding. A demonstration on her wheel-cart will follow the indoor program. All ages welcome. Members free/non-members $3

Bluebirds

Saturday March 1, 12:00- 2:00 pm

Hear about the dangers faced by these beautiful native birds, build a bluebird house to lure a pair into your own backyard. Members free/ Non-members $3. Cost to build bluebird house $7 members and non-members.

Marvelous Maples

Saturday March 1, 2:30- 4:00 pm

Nature Center staff will boil up a taste of real maple syrup from our own Maple tree. Learn the history of maple sugaring in America, how to “do-it-yourself”, then enjoy some pancakes and maple syrup.

 

Spring Trail Work Day

Saturday March 15, 9:00am - noon

It’s time to clean the trails and get ready for spring hiking! Bring rakes, wheelbarrows and gloves. Please label all belongings so that they may be returned to you if left behind. We will meet at the Nature Center and finish up at noon for grilled hamburgers and treats! Ages 12 and up

Decoy Carving Workshop

Saturday March 29, 10:00- noon

Decoy carving

Learn about a local art form from decoy carver, J. Ralph Nester. After learning basic skills, we will try our hand at carving a ducks head from soap. Materials will be provided.
Members free/ Nonmembers $3.

Frog Frenzy

Friday April 11, 6:30 pm

Come to the Fair Hill Nature and take a short hike to hear the froggy chorus at dusk. Enjoy a campfire and refreshments afterwards.

S.W.A.T. Road Cleanup

Saturday April 19, 8:00- 9:30 am

SWAT

Do your part to help clean up our roadsides by joining Nature Center staff and board members for its quarterly trash pickup day along our adopted highway, a 2 mile section of Rt. 273. We will meet at Wesley's parking lot at 8 a.m. All materials provided by the Nature Center. Must be 12 years or older.
